The City Block Project

Sean created The City Block Project and administers it through The Light Factory, a center for photography and film in Charlotte, NC.  Each year a new block is chosen and for 24-hours photographers descend on the block to document it in every way imaginable - the people, the architecture, the food, the action, and everything in-between.  Best of all, the winners are picked by a jury their peers - for each submission a participant makes they get two votes towards determining the winner, which can be used for any entry except his/her own.

The purpose of the project is provide a platform for photographers to learn and grow with each other, to create a historical record of Charlotte as it grows, and to just have fun.  To learn more about The City Block Project visit the project website at www.cityblockproject.com.

The winning entries have been featured in Charlotte Magazine, displayed on the EpiCentre video boards, announced at a Charlotte Knights' game, displayed on the video boards facing Bearden Park, as well as seen in gallery shows at Gallery Twenty-Two, the NASCAR Hall of Fame and at The Light Factory.
